luna

B. Makowksy purse // Marshall's top // Forever 21 skirt // Karen Scott boots

While Katina was home for Christmas break, we got a chance to go to our favorite restaurant in Norfolk, Luna Maya, for our yearly Mother/Daughter dinner with both of our moms. Besides hosting our annual gathering, Luna Maya seriously has the best vegetarian tamales and guacamole...seriously they're amazing!

high-low

Forever 21 skirt // Old Navy top // Grandmother's bracelet // Katina's clutch // Off Broadway boots

I'll admit it...I used to hate the high-low hem trend, but the more I saw it the more I realized that it's actually pretty cute! I've had this skirt for a while now, because I could never figure out what I wanted to wear with it. The colder weather inspired me to pair it with one of my slouchy sweaters and some ankle boots, and I have to say I don't hate the final outcome!

vest

 Marshall's skirt // Thrifted vest // Forever 21 bracelets

So there's a funny story about this vest...While visiting Katina last year, one night we went to a "vest party" and thus made a trip to the thrift store to find options. There were plenty to choose from: funny patterned vests, crocheted vests, denim vests, and I think there was even a Winnie-the-Pooh one in the mix! I ended up choosing this black one because I thought it looked cool, but I never imagined that I would wear it again. I was trying on clothes this morning and came across it, then figured out that it's actually something cute I can wear in real life-- not just to themed parties.

vintage

Forever 21 top // With Lavender and Lace vintage skirt // Express clutch // bracelet from Greece

I'm back in Virginia Beach for the weekend and my first stop was the little strip of vintage shops we discovered at the Ocean Front. Well that's not true... my first stop was my bed for about 12 hours of sleep... but this was a close second.

all tied up

Marshalls denim shirt // Hand-me-down dress // Etienne Aigner wedges //Forever21 jewelry

I love this outfit, and anything similar to it. Denim button-downs are so versatile and can be worn with basically anything...one of my favorite ways is with a skirt or over a dress. Today I wore mine tied over a dress that one of my friends gave me years ago. It gives it a new feeling and is a super comfortable outfit!

back in black (and silver, purple, and pink)

Etam tank // Marshalls skirt // Target watch //Grandmother's bracelets // Jack Rogers sandals // Forever 21 earrings
So I am back in Greensboro for my boyfriend's birthday and this outfit has proven to be very useful!  I have recently developed a love for maxi skirts because you can wear them on any occasion. I drove down in this and it was SO comfortable.

crushin

thrifted B. Moss top // TJ Maxx maxi // Fossil watch // Mom's side bag // Forever 21 shades

My Mom's birthday was today but since I just moved to DC, we decided to celebrate a little bit early with some orange crushes at Waterman's. I literally never wear this skirt because I can't ever figure out what to match it with.... apparently coral was what I was missing the whole time. Who knew.

white picket fence

Vintage Nicole Miller skirt // Forever 21 tank // DIY necklace // Ray-Ban shades // Target sandals

Today I went to my all time favorite sandwich shop for lunch - Taste Unlimited! It's a local chain that literally everyone in VB is obsessed with... yeah, it's that good. This was the highlight of my day, as you can see from how happy I am holding that Taste bag. The weather was perfect: just cool enough to wear a maxi skirt without being hot, and just hot enough to wear a tank top without being cold. Not to mention that I got the opportunity to wear my necklace I made the night before! (crafting party with Katina of course)

maxi skirt- yoga pants, the next generation

Free People tank // TJ Maxx skirt // Mom's old purse // Forever 21 aviators

Since I'm leaving for DC in three days to start an internship, I'm spending as much time as possible at the beach before I go. And who knew, September has the best beach weather! It was perfect. Not to mention this maxi skirt is potentially the most comfortable article of clothing I own- okay, that title belongs to a plus sized chenille sweater I purchased from Target- but a close second at least.
