the last cold day

Loft shirt // H&M pants // Target scarf // Gap coat // Gifted watch // Relic satchel

Confession #1- these pictures are old. They're from the last really cold day I can remember. Wandering around Georgetown... even in this coat and scarf... was rough to say the least. I think my friend described it best as "definitely glove weather."

Confession #2- this is someone's garage. But isn't it awesome, as far as garages go? Also, I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I didn't realize those stars (like the ones you see above) on old houses are actually star bolts that are tightened periodically to keep the structure from leaning. Pretty and useful- I like it.

Regardless, I can't think of a better way to spend the last day of winter than with coffee and cookie at Dean & Deluca.

red & camel

Old Navy coat // Forever 21 sweater // Charlotte Russe necklace // Volcom jeans // UO flats //
Fossil watch // Relic satchel

Of course the one weekend I decide to go home to VB, it snows. Completely unprepared, I packed flats and no coat. Despite the fact that I had to borrow my mom's way too small pea coat and had a couple of near death experiences slipping on ice- I have to say I'm really liking this red and camel color combo. Maybe my inability to pack appropriately worked in my favor... this time.

sunday morning coffee

The Gap parka // Relic satchel // Madewell jeans // Nine West boots // AJ Morgan shades

After a week at home for the holidays, it's finally time to leave Virginia Beach and get back to the real world. Well... first New Years Eve and lots of champagne... then the real world. As per usual, Anna and I had to complete our last day in VB rituals- coffee and bagels at our favorite breakfast place and blog pictures in the freezing cold. Luckily my new parka I got for Christmas is SO cozy. I never wear coats, but I think this guy might have me converted.

trench

the Gap trench // H&M shirt and pants // Urban Outfitters flats // Fossil watch

The trench coat always felt a little too adult for me, but as soon as I landed a job I went out and got one. It's finally gotten chilly enough in DC to wear it, and I have to say I instantly feel like a grown-up when I put it on.... well as much of a grown-up that still refers to adults as "grown-ups."
