to the hardware store

J. Crew shirt // H&M pants // Rugged Outfitters wedges // Fossil watch // thrifted bag // Forever 21 shades

So I've been in DC for almost 2 weeks now and while I have started my internship, learned my way around the metro, gone to a JMU tailgate, had great seats at a Nationals game, and attended a number of happy hours... I've taken pictures of none of it.
I decided it's been too long since I blogged, and even longer since I wore these shoes. This is my favorite 'business casual' outfit so far. Although these shoes are pretty comfortable, I have to admit I wouldn't have worn them if I had known I would be spending the better part of the day wandering around DC looking for wire clippers... definitely still an intern. Regardless, I think I won the award for best dressed at the hardware store.

back in black (and silver, purple, and pink)

Etam tank // Marshalls skirt // Target watch //Grandmother's bracelets // Jack Rogers sandals // Forever 21 earrings
So I am back in Greensboro for my boyfriend's birthday and this outfit has proven to be very useful!  I have recently developed a love for maxi skirts because you can wear them on any occasion. I drove down in this and it was SO comfortable.

no postage required

Banana Republic dress // Michael Kors watch // Jack Rogers sandals // Grandmother's necklace // Etienne Aigner purse

First off, I'd like to say that this dress is one of my best purchases because it is SO versatile. I wear it year-round...in the winter with tights, boots, and a scarf; in the summer as a swimsuit cover-up; and in the beautiful transitioning weather that is September. Anddd not only is it versatile, but this dress is comfortable too--an absolute winner in my book.
I wore this today to run errands with my mother. We went to the post office to mail some packages off, and after we left we drove past the old post office that is attached to a hardware store. Not only does the place have amazing chairs and rugged chains, but I took it as a sign from above that I should take my blog pictures there. (I mean two post offices in one hour is pretty ironic, right?)

crushin

thrifted B. Moss top // TJ Maxx maxi // Fossil watch // Mom's side bag // Forever 21 shades

My Mom's birthday was today but since I just moved to DC, we decided to celebrate a little bit early with some orange crushes at Waterman's. I literally never wear this skirt because I can't ever figure out what to match it with.... apparently coral was what I was missing the whole time. Who knew.

going green

Talbots dress // Michael Kors watch // Franco Sarto wedges // Forever 21 earrings // Oscar de la Renta sunglasses// Target belt

Tonight my mother and I had a dinner date at our favorite sushi restaurant, Mizuno. We've been going there for years and the food is always amazing--I'm a huge fan of their inarizushi.
Because Katina is leaving tomorrow (soooo depressing!), I've enlisted the help of my mom to take pictures for this blog... and I'd have to say she is doing a great job so far! We took the majority of our pics today in my neighborhood, where a gaggle of geese decided to join us.

on the dunes

on Katina: Gap sweater // Thrifted DIY shorts // Fossil watch // DIY necklace // TJ Maxx sandals // Topshop ring
on Anna: Tommy Hilfiger thrifted shorts // Gap v-neck // Roxy necklace // Grandmother's gold chains //  Target sandals

Yesterday we missed the sunset; today we determined to not make the same mistake! We headed out to the beach with plenty of time to spare. In case you were wondering about that parking meter picture up there, we too have no idea how to use it. I'm assuming it's some sort of honor code situation... sadly we were not very honorable today.
It being one of Katina's last nights, we decided we needed a picture together. Since there's unfortunately no camera crew following us around, we found a nice woman to snap a picture for us. Thanks lady, wherever you are- we think it turned out prettyyyy well.

white picket fence

Vintage Nicole Miller skirt // Forever 21 tank // DIY necklace // Ray-Ban shades // Target sandals

Today I went to my all time favorite sandwich shop for lunch - Taste Unlimited! It's a local chain that literally everyone in VB is obsessed with... yeah, it's that good. This was the highlight of my day, as you can see from how happy I am holding that Taste bag. The weather was perfect: just cool enough to wear a maxi skirt without being hot, and just hot enough to wear a tank top without being cold. Not to mention that I got the opportunity to wear my necklace I made the night before! (crafting party with Katina of course)
