I've been looking for a big necklace- I guess we call them "statement necklaces" now- for a while. About a week ago I hit a new level of desperation and ran to the mall (okay, multiple malls) everyday after work determined to find one. Luckily, when it comes to shopping, Anna pretty much knows everything and told me Charlotte Russe had a good selection. We don't usually shop there, but I was pleasantly surprised! Downside, I'm addicted and can't stop buying new necklaces.

I'll admit it...I used to hate the high-low hem trend, but the more I saw it the more I realized that it's actually pretty cute! I've had this skirt for a while now, because I could never figure out what I wanted to wear with it. The colder weather inspired me to pair it with one of my slouchy sweaters and some ankle boots, and I have to say I don't hate the final outcome!

I'm finally back in VB for the holidays. I have to say I'm enjoying the slightly warmer weather... no coat necessary and I can even walk around with my favorite accessory, an iced coffee, as opposed to a steaming hot latte. I'm not complaining.

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I know I did! Of course I'm still recovering from eating mass amounts of pumpkin pie, so what better to wear on the day after Thanksgiving than a dress? --it's both comfortable and loose! I decided to embrace the colors of the season with neutrals and a burnt orange cardigan, which somehow reminds me of pumpkin pie...guess my mind is still on the delicious food from yesterday. Lucky for me, we have leftovers!

I'm always looking for an excuse to wear this beaded necklace I made with Anna a few months ago. I decided to try it out with denim on denim, my favorite trend of the past couple of years. Obviously, if the shades are too close you'll end up looking like your channeling J. LO in a denim jumpsuit. To avoid that disaster, I paired my shirt with the darkest wash jeans I could possibly find.  This outfit ended up being perfect for wandering around Georgetown this weekend and was just right for the fall temperatures.

One trend this season that I fell in love with is the puffer vest. I have been seeing it literally everywhere-- on children, teenagers, young adults, and even the occasional mom. It's not a new article clothing and has been around for a while, but now it's a little less puffy and a little more fashionable. I'm quite obsessed with mine and am thinking about investing in other colors or a quilted version...we shall see!

I loved this dress when I bought it a few years ago and luckily I found it in the sale section. But, like always, I didn't follow the washing instructions and shrunk it. Luckily, a pair of opaque black tights gives this dress a new life and it is once again wearable rather than balled up in the back of my closet.

I wore this outfit on a recent trip to Norfolk with my mother. We went to the Chrysler Museum to take a look at their blown glass exhibit and just to look around at some of the art...it was really fun and inspirational, not to mention free!
